How to Boil Chicken Wings
Boiling chicken wings must seem like it would be an easy process, but it’s not as simple as you might think. You cannot just put chicken wings in water and leave them to boil. You need to follow a process for you to get the very best out of your boiled chicken wings. Below is all you need to know about boiling chicken wings:
Step 1: Take 1 kilogram of Chicken Wings
Obviously, the first step to boiling chicken wings would be to actually get them. To start, we recommend using a kilogram of chicken wings. However, if you don’t want to boil so many, you can use less. Moreover, you need to make sure that your chicken wings are cleanly cut and properly cleaned and processed. Then place your chicken wings in a boiling utensil.
Step 2: Add 2.5 liters of water
Add 2.5 liters of water to your utensil to boil the 1 kg of chicken wings. The amount of water you add is dependent on the quantity of chicken wings you are boiling. Moreover, make sure that you have a large enough utensil for a large amount of water.
Step 3: Boil the Mixture
Now you need to place a lid on the pan and leave it to boil on the stove until it has boiled. There is no set time as to how long you have to boil it. Just remember to take it off the stove as soon as the water begins to boil.
Step 4: Put 1 tablespoon of salt
When you have taken off the utensil off the stove, you then need to take the lid off and add one tablespoon of salt. Not only does the salt add some flavor, but it also helps with boiling. Make sure you mix the salt properly in the water by making sure it has dissolved fully. Mixing the salt is an important part of boiling chicken wings.
Step 5: Add two Bay Leaves
The reason that bay leaves is another great addition as it provides more flavor to your boiled chicken wings. Boiled chicken wings don’t taste that good on their own. You cannot expect them to taste great on their own, even if the chicken’s juicy. So you need some extra flavor to make sure that you enjoy what you are eating.
Step 6: Add half a tablespoon of black peppercorns
Adding to the salt and the minty taste of bay leaves is in the bitterness of the black peppercorns. The three ingredients when combined together bring quite a punch to the juicy chicken. Additionally, all three flavors are natural additives, and you do not need to add any processed spices or unnatural products to your chicken wings.
Step 7: Boil the Chicken Wings Once More, then Serve
How Long Does it Take to Boil Chicken Wings?
You may have already guessed, you need to boil your chicken wings more than once. The first time you boil the wings is to make the chicken tender and to also ensure that the outer skin becomes susceptible in absorbing the flavor, by adding the tasteful punch of all the ingredients you add to the mix later on. The first boiling time does not have a set time limit. Once it is boiling, you need to take the utensil off the stove.
The second part of the boiling happens once you have added all the ingredients you require for the taste and how you want to serve the boiled chicken wings. The reason you need to boil twice is to add the flavor of the salt, bay leaves, and the black peppercorn to the water as it adds to the tenderness of the chicken. There is a second time for the second boiling method, and you need to boil the chicken wings for around 20 minutes. Boiling it for more than this time could mean that you end up damaging the chicken.
