Step-by-step on how to cook stuffed eggs with shrimp

Cooking shrimp may seem simple, but there’s a minor detail you should know before serving your dishes. Fussy eaters will thank you if you do it right, and we’re disclosing that information in this step-by-step.

Step 1: While boiling the eggs, take out the dark line of shrimp and cook them

One of the best ways to cook shrimp is on the stove, and you only need to add some salt and pepper. However, before cooking shrimps, locate and take out the dark stripe found in the dorsum of the fish. These black veins contain the intestinal tract. They are edible, but some guests may feel disgusted to think they are eating the contents of the intestines. You can take it out by stripping down the tail or simply by incising with your knife and taking it out. After doing that, cook the shrimp on the skillet with some salt and pepper. Meanwhile, put 6 eggs in boiling water to cook them.

Step 2: Mix the shrimp and eggs with mayonnaise, ketchup, and spices

Once you have the main ingredients, chop the shrimp and the eggs, but saving one-half of the hard-boiled eggs and a few complete shrimps for later. Mix the chopped shrimp and eggs in a bowl with mayonnaise and ketchup. You can add whiskey, salt, and pepper to make it tasty.

They will stand on the plate like a small container filled or stuffed with the mix. At first, it may seem difficult to keep them standing, but all you need to do is work with weight balance.

Step 4: Add chopped chives on top

After your egg halves are stuffed with the mix and standing, it is a good idea to add some chopped chives on top. This apparently small step gives freshness to the stuffed eggs with shrimp recipe.

Step 5: Add shrimp and serve

You can stick a shrimp to each stuffed egg half after adding chopped chives on top. It looks great and tastes fantastic.

Notes

Useful tips:
  • If you have difficulties keeping your egg halves standing, try to cut them differently. Try a horizontal cut instead of a vertical cut.
  • The egg yolk gives your mix an exceptional taste and texture. A good idea would be to take the egg yolk only, without the egg whites.
  • If you want a creamy texture, use a food processor instead of mixing the ingredients in a bowl.
  • You can always replace mayonnaise with Greek yogurt and other low-fat alternatives to reduce the calorie count. Doing so and taking out ketchup will give you a very healthy recipe.
