Ingredients
  

  • 400 g mutton
  • 2.5 l water
  • 1 large carrot
  • ½ tsp whole black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Unpack your mutton and cut off the excess fat
  • Pour 2.5l of water into a deep pan and bring to a boil
  • Chop up a large carrot and take the skin off an onion
  • Add the mutton to the boiling water
  • Add the vegetables to the boiling water, plus ½ tsp of black peppercorns
  • Bring to a boil and remove any foam that develops on the surface
  • Add a tbsp of salt and then cook on low heat for 2 hours
  • Check readiness by piercing the meat with a knife
  • Remove the mutton from the water and pat dry
  • Carve and serve or add to your favorite dish

Add one large white onion for taste while boiling
