Squid rings are a tasty and healthy treat. One cup of boiled squid has two grams of fat, four grams of carbs and a whopping 21 grams of protein (holy cow!) but only 134 calories. This recipe only requires five ingredients: squid, water, bay leaves, salt, and fresh limes, and it takes less than ten minutes from start to finish, making it the perfect high-protein snack.

Ingredients
  

  • Squid rings
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Bay leaves
  • Fresh lime

Instructions
 

  • Add water to a pot and place it on the stove. Turn the heat to high.
  • Add 2 tablespoons salt to the water while it boils
  • Add 2-3 crushed bay leaves to the water
  • Once the water is boiling, add your squid rings
  • Stir regularly
  • Boil squid rings for 2-3 minutes on high heat
  • Turn off your stove. Using a slotted spoon, remove the rings from the water
  • Serve with a fresh lime garnish
